Count me among the fans of Adam Marsland's new album
"You Don't Know Me". TONS of amazing moments on this
record -- my current favorite being the ultra-gorgeous
"A Moment of Clarity", featuring some chilling
co-vocals courtesy of Stew and Heidi of The Negro
Problem/Stew. Another incredible moment is "I Can't Do
This Anymore" featuring a SCORCHING harmony vocal
courtesy of Sir Robbie Rist. Let me tell you: knowing
these guys personally, and hearing these songs, makes
me feel privileged and quite humbled. Fantastic album;
buy it and catch Adam and his Chaos Band on tour in a
city near you over the next few weeks. And tune into
www.adammarsland.com for tour diaries, where you, too,
can live the life of an indie touring musician without
the discomfort and shame. ;)

Another GREAT record is the new one by Steve Stanley
and The Now People, entitled "The Last Great Love
Affair of the 21st Century" (or something very
similar; sorry, my copy is at my girlfriend's house).
Incredibly detailed, baroque, Wilson/Wondermint-esque
pop of the highest Bacharach order. Featuring an
UNREAL production -- there's so much going on with
these songs, musically, it's incredible. If and when
this pesky day gig of mine slows down, I will endeavor
to write a full review of this wonderful album, but,
if you get a chance, score it and weep at the lush
beauty of this fine, fine album. Chills, I tell you.

Just got SMiLE for my birthday -- insane. INSANE. What
a rollercoaster ride. A question: would anyone be able
to enlighten me as to who actually sequenced SMiLE?
Was it Brian? Darian Sahanaja? Having heard lots of
the SMiLE boots over the years, it's the sequence of
the official version that lays waste to my heart.
Fantastic.

May all your Probyn Gregory's,
