I know he's been playing new material in his live dates (not that I've seen
any myself lately), and I've heard about some work in the studio, but no
idea about how far along the recording process is.

There's a wee bit of back catalog you can dig up if you're interested --
there were two different releases of "Redhead" with a couple of different
songs and different running order. The original Aware release is nice to
have for completist's sake, but it's not overwhelmingly different from the
Columbia release.

Also, there's "Headroom", a full length CD which has a handful of the same
tunes as "Redhead" in somewhat less tight, less produced takes, and a good
batch of other songs. This was his indie debut that got him noticed on the
Boston scene in 2000. Currently out of print, but copies can be found (e.g.
http://www.buymusichere.net/rel/v2_viewupc.php?storenr=103&upc=323117NEWBU).

Lastly, there's Bing Bang Holidang, which includes his excellent
winter-themed song, "Snow Day", which he frequently plays live, and some
strange and very cool Christmas chestnuts. You'll hear some subtle (and
not-so-subtle) electronica influences on this, and there's a rocking out 12
Days of Christmas featuring a pile of indie Boston artists (Mighty Mighty
Bosstones, Guster, Buffalo Tom). Currently available from Bleu's website --

Happy listening!
Christopher
