The October 2004 Fufkin.com page is up. This month we
have the following record reviews:

Mike Bennett presents full length reviews of The
Features, Adam Marsland, Lisa Mychols, Sukilove and
The Insomniacs. Mike also has capsule reviews of
Matthew Sweet, The Paybacks, Lolas, Tim Lee, Dora
Flood, Channels (J. Robbins’ new band), Tracy
Speuhler, Jonathan Rundman, Telepathic Butterflies,
Atomic 7, The Sirens, Midnight Movies and compilations
from Oval-Teen and Even.

Gary Glauber reviews the latest from Kevin Tihista’s
Red Terror, timewellspent, The Zinedines and Seth
Swirsky.

Kurt Sampsel reviews a reissue from The Holy Modal
Rounders, while Michael Lynch looks at a compilation
of ‘60s British music called 1-2-3-4: Beat, Beat,
Beat, Volume 4.

James Baumann looks at the new Clash reissue along
with new releases from The Mendoza Line, The Thrills
and Maplewood.

There are two pieces relating to our cover subject,
Brian Wilson. Mike Bennett discusses a recent Brian
Wilson show in Chicago and the Smile album. Kurt
Sampsel talks about his impressions of Smile...BEFORE
HE EVEN HEARD THE RECORD.

Gary Pig Gold spoke to Harvey Kubernik, a veteran
music journalist who has just released a book of
fascinating interviews with folks like Keith Richards,
Chrissie Hynde, Ravi Shankar, Ray Manzarek, Marianne
Faithfull and many other luminaries. This is Part Two
of his interview.

Michael Lynch shares a chapter from his unpublished
book on the Rolling Stones. This chapter is an
analytical look at the Stones first album. Michael
states that he’ll post more if there’s a demand -- so
readers, demand away!

The Sports sang “Who Listens to the Radio”. Alan
Haber wonders why anyone does anymore. This is the
first part of an extended piece by Alan on the state
of radio today and is well worth reading.

Mike Bennett’s column this month is chock full of
personal observations from a reviewer, with some tips
to folks looking to get their music reviewed.

Eric Sorensen’s Further Adventures of a Jangly Music
Fan features his takes on music from The Grip Weeds,
Bowman, Maplewood, Kelly’s Heels, Dolorean, La Granja
and tracks by Roger McGuinn and Diesel Park West.

Finally, Kevin Mathews is back with more of So Much
Music, So Little Time, writing about The Finn
Brothers, Jim White, The Widget Holes, The Saving
Graces, John Train and a bunch of others.

We hope you all come and visit us.
