Bobby

have you tried the obvious and assembled the BB version as per the running
order on the new album? It's on my mind, that's for sure.

I'm sure the pressure from Capitol, lawsuits and the relative flop of Pet
Sounds also contributed. I don't even want to think about that schmuck Mike
Love. As I said the other day, I'm sure he's got his turban in a knot about
Brian's album. Funny thing is, when I saw 'em in '71-72, it was Mike who
scolded the audience before they even started to "listen to their new songs,
and if the audience behaved, they'd play some oldies later". Opened with Heroes
And Villains. Played a lot of Sunflower and Surfs Up too...

The Lifehouse songs have always been there, a couple more Who versions surfaced
with the reissues of Who's Next. I'm surprised that they haven't just put all
those songs out on one album. Probably because Townshend keep dicking with the
idea, adding new songs and such. He probably doesn't even know what it's
suppose to be. The box set of demos he sold on his website was a treat. Great
copies of that stuff that I've had on tape for ages.

Another "lost album" would be First Rays Of The New Rising Sun, which would
have been the proper 4th Hendrix album. In Guitar Player a few years ago, they
showed Jimi's notes for the running order, but only three sides! I played it on
my radio show once, and then threw in the other songs that were done at the
same time. Again, I can't believe they haven't used those notes as the basis
for a proper collection of those songs. I think they have used the title for
yet another gab bag of stuff...
