I have a similar problem with classical music cds -
half of them list the artist as Beethoven or Holst or
whomever, and others may list the artist as the
orchestra, or the conductor, or even the soloist if
they get a big enough chunk of time. Irritating, yes
- and another puzzle is those cds with two artists on
them (eg, i have Holst's "Planets" on the same cd as
Elgar's "Enigma Variations," but Holst's name is first
on the downloadable info so I have to remember what cd
had what combo on it to find the second artist....what
the...?)
In general, I can overcome this all by entering the
info manually, but jeez. c'mon. my classical
collection isn't quite what my pop/rock collection is,
but that doesn't mean i want to type it all into
iTunes. You'd think some classical gearhead would have
figured out a better way to do this by now, same as
they have it differently cataloged in music stores.
despite my whining, i still heart my iPod. Though the
iRiver is an intriguing little piece of work too, i
come to find.
