I liked "Folk Years," but not as much as "Pink Pearl" or the new
one, "Underdog Victorious," with which it shares a handful of tracks. "Folk
Years," I thought, was kind of a gift to the fans who were hanging in there
with her at shows. It's more intimate -- pretty much acoustic-based (so the
title is accurate).
I was irritated that it didn't include "Joey," her song about Joey Heatherton,
but that's on the new album. "Folk Years" does include her version of
Destiny's Child's "Survivor," which is a stitch.
If you like Sobule's acoustic stuff, "Folk Years" is top notch. "Underdog
Victorious" is one of the best things I've heard all year. (For point of
reference, the other great stuff I've heard this year includes "SMiLE," the
new Rick Springfield, N.E.R.D. and The Lackloves.)

>>feel Like I've
asked this before, but what can you tell me about Jill's album"The Folk Years
2003=2003"? I have never read a review or heard anything about it.Since I've
liked everything I've heard by her,I'm curious if it's worth investing in.<
