I'm a tad disappointed to see you qualify your praise, though of course I'm delighted that you'd still rank it so highly. I think the album does a great job of showing off everything I love about the band, and I have no complaints about it whatsoever. Definite album of the year contender for me.

I know you've seen them live since you and I were both at their Monsters of Pop set at the End in 2000 (along with the wowed members of Frisbee, who'd been turned into Features converts the previous evening in Murfreesboro!), so it's funny (to me) that I think the album captures their live sound and you don't think so!

For what it's worth, the band says that Universal gave them complete artistic freedom and offered no interference on production, song selection, artwork, or anything else. So if there's somthing you don't like, it can't be blamed on Major Label-itis.

later,

Miles
