I can understand what you mean up to a point about Brian's voice but I
didn't find it got in the way of enjoying the recording. I suspect
they spent a lot of time making sure they sounded as good as possible
because it's the best he's sounded in a while.

I have the advantage of living in the UK so was able to pick it up
yesterday and it's a triumph, way better than could have been expected
and recorded very sympathetically to the original sessions. The only
mis-step I think is the re-recording of Good Vibrations at the end. It
would have been better to end on the short reprise of Our Prayer at
the end of In Blue Hawaii. GV, to me, feels tacked on and I suppose
suffers most from awareness that you're listening to a re-recording of
an old song being the track that I'm most familiar with (despite
having heard all the Smile material out there on bootleg).
