In my book, The Sex Pistols were more important than
Ramones, kind of in the way that Elvis was more
important than Little Richard, Chuck Berry, et al.
More artists have had their SONGS influenced by
Ramones, but the Sex Pistols inspired so many bands to
form, and from that influence, the punk D.I.Y. ethos
was born (though the Pistols themselves were far from
D.I.Y.).
