Yeah, I knew nobody would agree with me. :-)
Don't feel too bad David... The argument you presented had good points and
nobody can dismiss them that easily... The truth of the matter is that
Brian's vocal abilities have waned quite a bit... but I guess "Smile"
somehow through tight musicians, some studio wizardry (auto tune... reverb,
you name it) and the sheer well intentioned desire of Brian to present his
fans with a parting gift just in case he never records again for whatever
reasons, and finally all the help from his friends (Foskett, Wondermints)
well all things considered then we have a darn good album here in the midst
of so many mediocre recordings that the "industry" has subjected us to for
years...
I know you weren't trying to sound critical, simply realistic and that you
are enjoying Smile for sure!
