I actually like the raggedness of the vocals myself - the sense of age
on a song like Surf's Up adds a whole extra level of meaning. But then
I'm odd - my favourite Brian WIlson vocals are on The Beach Boys Love
You and Adult Child.

He won't sue because he is credited - at least he is on my copy. And
Love *did* write some of the lyrics used - the first line, the chorus
and everything after the second chorus...
However, apparently Brian Wilson bought all rights to anything
involving Smile from the other board members of BRI (Mike Love, Al
Jardine and the estate of Carl Wilson) last year, which would
presumably include anything anyone could sue over...
