Well that is a clever bit of writing... The verses are sung double time,
then it goes to half time on the bridge, with the 3/4 section going
heavy... wish I'd thought of that.

That's my gripe about a lot of modern stuff, power pop or otherwise.
It's just one tempo all the way thought, usually too fast or too slow.
No one dares do any thing this clever for fear of confusing the radio
consultants. On top of that, the drums are so stiff, and it's always
that same damn snare sound.
