I wish there were more producers of children's music who got this. In the
world of movies, Disney (and, to an even greater extent, Pixar) long ago
figured out that a good kid's movie is also a good movie, period. So I'm not
sure why so much music aimed at kids is just boring and stupid.

It's not universally true, of course. Every now and then my daughter
acquires a CD that I really enjoy, and sometimes I even think "Man, I'm
going to miss this music when she outgrows it." Of course, there's no reason
why I couldn't still listen to the "Blue's Big Musical Movie" soundtrack
after our daughter is off at college, but people might look at me funny.

Having said all that, I'm not entirely sure what the point of this
particular Beatles CD is. My daughter already likes the Beatles, and there
is nothing about the original recordings that isn't kid-friendly. These
renditions don't sound particularly innovative to my ears -- there's just a
chorus of kids added, and I've never believed that kids only want to listen
to kids singing.

Still, it sounds nicely produced, and I may end up buying it just because
Jim Boggia is involved.
