Just me trying to pick a hugely popular band which has a low pop quotient
(for the most part) that I happen also to like. I could have said Dire
Straits or Steely Dan . . . Although I know a lot of us have soft spots
in our hearts for the classic / proggy stuff . . .

Hey, watch it! I said Post-Gabriel Genesis, not Post-Genesis Gabriel.
BIG difference! I was thinking more "It's Gonna Get Better" or "Home By
The Sea", or maybe something off of Abacab. Duke may fly on Audities
because it was a better meld of the old prog with the new pop.

Sure, but the second?

Love their first two records, actually. Saw them live -- great musicians
having fun without breaking much of a sweat. In my experience, this band
often gets the nose-up treatment from music snobs such as us, hence the
mention here.

That's a pretty good call, but I think a lot of people here would have to
admit to that one.

"Lost in Love" Air Supply

Dude, even I wouldn't have admitted that!

I think I can top that. I saw Emerson, Palmer and some miscellaneous guy
as "3". The single was "Talkin' 'Bout", IIRC.

There's another good candidate. Remember, the thread idea was songs you
could admit liking to your regular friends, just not over here on
Audities . . .
