With all the Audities discussion regarding Tribute albums and particularly, the Beatles, I thought I would bring an additional quasi-Beatles-tribute album to the attention of Audities members. Bingo Records, a Philadelphia label, has just released their first CD "The Bingo Kids Sing Beatles Hits for Kids". The mission of the label is to release children's music that both children and their parents can enjoy and the Beatles seemed a natural choice as their first release in this venture.

Folks, I think this is a pretty impressive release. The production and instrumentation are first rate and are handled by longtime Philadelphia musicians Brian and Scott Bricklin (Bricklin, Martin's Dam, Four Way Street). Scott and Jim Boggia handle the adult vocals and a group of six child singers provide the vocal solos and choruses. They do great renditions of She Loves You, Penny Lane, When I'm Sixty-Four, Here Comes The Sun, Octopus's Garden and 10 other "kid friendly" Beatles songs.

In case you are wondering, I don't work for Bingo Records and I don't get anything out of this, but I will admit a slight bias. My partner's nephew, Robert Pellechio, Jr. is one of the 6 "Bingo Kids" and provides the solo vocals on Octopus's Garden. He and the rest of the kids are just great! I've included a snippet of the Bingo Record's Mission Statement below to give a bit more info on the label and this release.

Song samples are also available at the web site http://www.bingorecords.com/. Check it out!

"Bingo Records is based upon the premise that parents and children should enjoy and share the experience of listening to music together. Sharing music is among the best ways to nurture, bond and share time with children. We have kids too. We have been through long car rides, tired mornings and other occasions listening to the same "children's music " over and over and over. While there certainly is a place for those songs, we thought it would be great to create a kid-friendly collection of outstanding quality music CDs that all ages could enjoy. So. we decided to start a record company to bring our dream to life!

Bingo Records takes classic and time-tested songs that grown-ups know and love, and we remake them in a totally kid-friendly way. The instrumentation is produced with the highest possible standards. On our first CD, The Bingo Kids Sing Beatles Hits For Kids, we tried to capture the unique magic of The Beatles and their original recordings. And we really think we got it! We used vintage instruments and equipment and period accurate production techniques. Our own group of "Bingo Kids" sang carefully orchestrated vocal parts to give this one-of-a-kind collection of children's music that joyous sound that other kids love to hear."

We sincerely hope that you and whatever young person is in your life, be it your son, daughter, nephew, grandchild, young sibling or family friend, can enjoy and revisit the magic of the great songs of The Beatles.

Peace & Best Wishes,

Ric Cohen & Michael Silver
Founders of Bingo Records
