Ahem... Ok Jaimie, I just know some auditeers are going to laugh so hard and so loud it'll send this email to the next galaxy but... has anyone ever considered doing a .... (ready for this?) Paul Revere & The Raiders tribute...
(laughter... gaffaws... knee slapping... tears rolling...)
Ok... now that you've all had your jollies, consider this... The Raiders were, imho, one of the first punk garage bands of the 60's... Listen carefully to the "pre-grundgy" tones of "Kicks"; "Good Thing"; "Just Like Me" and the powerpop enthusiasm of "Him or Me - What's It Gonna Be" and "I Had a Dream"... Dunno about you, but I can just hear some of today's bands taking those songs and making them so palatable it might just give this band the due they were never paid.... Anyway, this might just fade away into oblivion but thought I'd stand up for one of my (ummm) all-time favorite band...
Made for a good chuckle anyway...
