A while back I saw Owsley perform at the Mercury Lounge here in NYC. As an encore, he broke out a perfect cover of Steely Dan's "My Old School", rendered NOTE FOR NOTE as the recorded version, including Jeff Baxter's somewhat famous guitar solos. He may have been just showing off his guitar prowess, but darn if he didn't get it exactly right. Eerie, but totally enjoyable.
