Oh, you'll get no guffaws from this direction; the Raiders are one of my
all-time favorites, with a rich catalogue of worthy tracks (with the Wilson
Pickett-meets-The-Kinks splendor of "Just Like Me" my personal # 1 Raiders nugget).
I dunno if a tribute would work--I've yet to hear a great Raiders cover
(well, outside of The Monkees' and The Sex Pistols' takes on "Steppin' Stone," but
they don't count)--but the idea itself has merit. Sanity would dictate that
Gary Pig Gold must be involved in some key capacity.
