Hey Rich,

The Candy Butchers CD is still my favorite CD of the year, hands down.
I've listened to it so many times but I haven't tired of it yet.

The lyrics are definitely very personal, which I think is one of the
reasons why I like it so much. It's not just good music, but there's an
emotional reaction to some of the songs.

I know there may not be too many fans of this band here, but the CD it
reminds me of the most is Everclear's "Songs From An American Movie Vol.
1 -- Learning How To Smile". This was also my favorite disc of the year
about 3 years ago. The second volume they put out was really awful,
but the first one (which was originally going to be released as a solo
CD for lead singer Art Alexakis) is basically the story of Art's life.
There are songs about his marriage, divorce, second marriage, the birth
of his daughter, etc.
