I had to smile when you posted this.....my SOTT 18 *is* quite derivative of
everything coming out of Canada between 1970 and 1975. That's what we did
back then because of the Canadian Content Regulations. Then you had ex-pat
Brits coming over and stirring up the mix.....namely guys like Terry Brown
who was so fatigued by derivative pop releases he was working on like
Lighthouse, Edward Bear and even Pagliaro that he gave several working
stiffs in a band called Klaatu free reign at Toronto Sound to do whatever
the hell they wanted and spurred a whole new derivation -- Beatlesque music.
Oh, not to mention the prog influx of Rush....and later a quirky little band
of musical misfits called Max Webster.
