Last week, I was trolling around the internet, plugging in stuff in Google, and
I ran across a 45 that my old band, The UpBeats, put out in 1986. One site is
in Maryland, the other in Holland.
Metro Music (www.metro-music.com) in Maryland describes the record as "Super 60s
Garage in Ben Vaughn style." It's on sale for $2.00
Beat Behind The Dykes (www.beatbehindthedykes.com) in Holland sez, "Obscure
early 80s Rickenbacker garage pop from PA!! Great 2 sider!! Band inc. graphic
artist Greg Matecko (Get Hip) They're selling it for 30 Euros. They also have
a sound clip and picture of the sleeve.
Metro Music bought 100 copies of the single in '86. I wonder how a copy made
it's way to Holland? One of our drummers got an email from Singapore a few years
back asking for a copy.
And there's also a copy bouncing around in Adam Marsland's merch box, too...
Greg
