EMUSIC ADDS EDITORIAL: Former Rolling Stone
Contributing Editor Michael Azerrad and ex-N.Y.
Times rock critic Ann Powers are two of the music
journos hired by eMusic, an MP3 download subscription
service specializing in independent label content.
Azerrad has been named Editor in Chief, while Village
Voice and Seattle Weekly contributor Yance Stickler
is tapped as Managing Editor.
Powers, former Rolling Stone and Creem scribe John
Morthland, Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Justin Davidson
and No Depression co-editor Peter Blackstock have all
been named contributing columnists. Other contributors
include Douglas Wolk, Hua Hsu, Robert Phoenix, Kevin
Whitehead, Michael James McGonigal, Peter Blackstock,
Philip Sherburne and Richard Gehr.
A revamped version of the eMusic service featuring the
new editorial content is expected to launch next month.
