Should "another Beatles" ever arise in our lifetime - if it hasn't already - it will be in a field other than music, or other than rock/pop music. Maybe Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are the next Beatles. Maybe someone will revolutionize the hacky sack and claim that social significance. Who knows, but I don't think in this short a span, in an industry that is not structured to foster both artistic and commercial growth, that we'll be able to both reclaim our musical innocence and lose it once more. Heavy, eh?
