I haven't heard Ashlee's single yet, but I had MTV Hits on this morning and
I heard Maria Mena's second single, "Sorry," and I've officially decided
that I quite like her. Her first single, "You're the Only One," was pretty
good, but I was distracted and worried by the way she was trying to sound
and look like Baby Alanis, but "Sorry" has no Alanis-isms at all, and it's
a solidly catchy pop song with a great chorus. And she's hot.

However, as Fefe Dobson proved, making pop records that appeal to
35-year-old guys probably means a relative lack of mainstream teenybopper
success.
