It does make for weirdly compelling television -- all these high-level
meetings with the Grand Wizard at Geffen and him telling her what kind
"artist" she wants to be.
It would almost be vomit-inducing but for the fact that she seems like a
genuinely nice kid, and very, very much a 19-year-old girl (replete with
crushes, etc). It makes her actually sort of endearing, in a way.

And yeah, I saw her on GMA the other week and she could just about pull off
that long "Ohhhhhh ...." at the beginning of the chorus on  "Pieces of Me."
Still, it's pretty damned catchy. Finally broke down and downloaded the
single from iTunes the other day.
