I don't know if she's the next Beatles, but on the season finale of her MTV
show last night, Ashlee Simpson did have a hard time understanding the radio
DJs interviewing her by phone, just like the Beatles and Murray the K. Oh,
and she just used the power of television to sell a million records. Guess
some of the young ones are having trouble with their Internet connection.
I enjoyed this show. The kid is immensely likeable and has a good head on
her shoulders. Her interaction with the creepy Geffen execs was fascinating
to watch. The music? Kind of mainstreamy, but has a certain Letters to
Cleo-ish charm to it.
