Had a nice day at the IPO show at Stanton Park yesterday. The crowd was
pretty darned good, since the gig was held in conjunction with the City of
Stantoin's Summerfest celebration.
This meant that there were lots of kids hanging 'round, and a craft fair,
food and game booths, rides and what have you---a real country fair type of
atmosphere, which was cool (one question, though: why in the name of all that is
holy would anyone want to eat a bacon-wrapped hot dog?).
Standouts included JAM Records artists Raquel's Boys (sunshiney pop toonz),
Glowfriends (April Morris sure has got a purty voice---haunting, too) and of
course, the inimitable Jeremy Morris, who wowed the crowd with his hair-raising,
string-breaking, guitar-hero shenanigans. Damn, can he ever play! Amazing.
I missed Morty Shallman (was off getting my kids some chow) and only heard
two tunes from Household Names, but they sounded very cool.
All in all, a nice time.
