The first time Slash came into the club (Fais Do Do), the sound engineer
said "Slash is my favorite guitarist-I've gotta get my guitar and have him
autograph it", which he did much to her happiness. He also autographed the
stomach of one of the kitchen workers, which I found quite amusing.

My favorite thing took place after the show started. Slash had gone back
next door to continue the video, but then came back to the club and wanted
to get in. The doorman, who apparently didn't recognize him, said "that
will be $8". I was standing there and thought for a moment about
interceding, but then thought "hmmm, this could be interesting-let's see how
it plays out". Slash whispered something to the doorman who then let him
(along with his companion) in. Slash then kinda chuckled to his companion,
and they made their way towards the bar...

I told this story to the staff of the next day's IPO venue, and they thought
it was great. They said "I don't care who the person is. If he's not on
the guest list, he's not getting in free". One of them had a great story
about Corey Feldman, who at one show either thought he was supposed to be on
the list or felt he was entitled to free entrance regardless; anyway, he
wasn't on the list, and the doorman would not let him in without paying.
As the guy told it, Feldman then started jumping up and down like a two year
old, screaming "I'm Corey Feldman...I'M COREY FELDMAN!!!", but it didn't
help. Finally, exasperated, he pulled out a $10 bill from his pocket and
practically threw it at the doorman.

Priceless, I tell you! Anyone else have any good "celebrities denied free
entrance" stories?

Oh, by the way, the IPO shows have all been great, and I want to thank every
Auditeer who has attended. We have another week to go, so we hope to see
you again! :-)

David
