I got the Eugene Edwards CD in the mail today and it's simply amazing
.. I had heard all but maybe one or two tracks from it at his concerts
over the last couple of years.
This is highly reccomended to everyone on the list.. Go get it for $10
from Anna at Tallboy records, especially if you like Squeeze, Einstein's
Sister.. one song even reminds me of Steven Bishop.
He's got a couple of IPO dates coming up too, if you've never seen him live.
Just got back another great night of IPO.. a huge turnout, one of the
more crowded shows I've seen this year. Great performances by Lisa
Mychols, Big City Rock and you haven't lived until you see Emaneht doing
a punk rock cover of the Charles In Charge theme song.
I also enjoyed a band called The Hatch .. They were giving out free CD's
so I'll have to listen to it soon.. . I picked up Jamie Cullum's CD at
Amoeba before the show and listened to some of that on the way home..
they had it in the jazz section.
