I play an Epiphone Les Paul, as does my songwriting partner, and we
have nothing but good things to say about them. They're cheap,
durable, good all-round guitars. They're great for lead *and* rhythm
work, have a good full sound, can take a few knocks, stay in tune, and
sound as good playing single-line stuff, arpeggios, or chords. They're
not the best guitars by any means for anything specialised, but if
you're on a low budget and want a single guitar to play (rather than
having different guitars for different things) I would recommend them
wholeheartedly. Don't know about the Flying V or Firebird though.
And of course, you must *only* use a Marshall for playing an Epiphone through ;)
