Bob... I myself have a (Mexican) Fender Strat Roland ready midi-synth
guitar... but I've heard and read pretty good things about Line-6's (makers
of the Pod) Variax guitar... It's an electric guitar that, at the flick of a
switch, can emulate the sound of many famous (and expensive) guitars
including acoustic sounds... You may want to run a search on Google and
check out Line 6 Variax... Try to type in Line 6 Variax review(s) and see
what different owners have to say... The pros are overwhelming however some
cons as far as a bit more attention should be paid to the QC when
manufactured, but it seems that Variax has a lot of happy owners... Best to
you on your guitar quest, I know how much it has to be thought out to spend
the hard earned $....
