I can't find my copy of the book I thought I'd read this information in,
George Gimarc's Punk Diary, which is pretty reliable when it comes to
release dates. Unless I'm mistaken, "Jet Boy Jet Girl" came out in early
1978, a few months before "Ca Plane Pour Moi." I believe it was reissued
after "Ca Plane" became a hit, which may be why many people think the
Belgian version came first. But one of Ralph's helpful URLs has Elton
himself saying that "Jet Boy Jet Girl" was recorded first and Plastic
Bertrand used its backing track for "Ca Plane Pour Moi."

It's been suggested, but I'm pretty sure I'd be one of those people who has
trouble with the button.
