What an opening night! A pretty stellar lineup of performers including
fantastic band performances from P. Hux, Rusty Anderson (Paul McCartney,
Ednaswap), Phil Solem (1/2 of the Rembrandts who are also scheduled to play
the festival), Maple Mars-(I played keys/sang backing vox with them-not to
toot our horn, many folks seemed to enjoy the set) and another fantastic set
from Wil Owsley and band (with Millard Powers on bass/vox!!).

Arthur didn't mention what the two covers that Owsley replicated and
embellished upon to perfection:

Steely Dan's "My Old School"-complete with Jeff Baxter guitar solos done to
a tee and ended their set with the Who-"We Won't Get Fooled Again." I don't
think many bands would even attempt these choices let alone pull them off as
seemlessly as Will and Co. did....for me the Steely Dan tune will be etched
into my memory as one of my favorite perfomances from Will here on the West
Coast. Spoke to both Will and Millard after the show. Two affable, cool
guys for sure. A great start for IPO.

Brian
