Plastic Bertrand is dead frickin' simple: Lowe>Brian James>Plastic Bertrand

Nick Lowe produced the first single by the Damned. The Damned's guitarist
Brian James was later the guitarist in the short-lived band Elton Motello.
Plastic Bertrand's "Ca Plane Pour Moi" uses the exact same backing track as
Elton Motello's single "Jet Boy Jet Girl": he simply wiped the English
lyrics and inserted his own.

I'll tackle the others tomorrow when I have more time to ponder.
