I've been watching some Shindig episodes tonight that make me like them even
more.
They're performing "Do Wah Diddy".
Firstly, Mann himself is sportin' the best facial hair of any rock performer
of all time, and horn-rimmed glasses to boot, and is completely over the
top.
But the real highlight is the drummer - he hits absolutely no part of his
kit during the entire performance (unless there's an invisible high-hat
located a foot above his visible one).
The director, of course, chooses to take a shot of him every time that
roll/fill comes around in the chorus, oblivious to the fact that the piss is
being taken out of the performance.
Yeah, I know, doesn't take much to excite me on a Saturday night.
Were all of the Shindig performances lip synced?
I had hopes for them not to be when I could see guitar cords coming out of
guitars (that's usually the giveaway for lip syncing).
