I just finished the book -- it's a very quick read. It's enjoyable, though
not earthshattering. There are some great moments in the book and it is
cool to read an account from someone who entered the arena with such
relative naivete at 32 years old.
I would also have to disagree to whomever posted about the book a week or so
ago, complaining that it was disjointed. While the book is not 100%
chronological, it is never hard to follow what's going on, and the purpose
in occasionally breaking the time line is that each chapter takes on a
different topic, so to encapsulate the topic, he might not stay wholly
within the chronology.
The one thing that is so mind blowing is just how successful their second
album was, and how that didn't mean a damn thing when the third one came
out.
