<< Yeah, kinda like Phil Spector....he was always about the "sound" and
presentation and never stopped once to realize that he HAD some songs under
all that sludge. Sorry if this pisses of the Spectorphiles, but the guy did
nothing but ruin what amounted to be pretty straight-up pop songs with his
"wall of ego". >>
Now just a cotton pickin minute there, Jaimie.
This time (unlike Mr. Spector),
you've GONE TOO FAR ;-)
For my edification at least,
could you kindly point out where precisely lays the sludge which ruined any
of the following:
- To Know Him Is To Love Him
- Spanish Harlem
- Uptown
- He's A Rebel
- Da Doo Ron Ron
- Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
- Not Too Young To Get Married
- Be My Baby
- Baby I Love You (Ronettes OR Ramones)
- Do I Love You
- You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'
- River Deep Mountain High
- Black Pearl
- Instant Karma
- Two Of Us
- My Sweet Lord
- What Is Life
- Imagine
- Danny Says
Just curious;
granted, maybe you are basing your opinion on some rare alternate mixes of
any of the above which the rest of us have not heard,
Gary "Wall of Sarcasm" Pig
