Clash come a-Calling again
By JANE STEVENSON
Toronto Sun
The Clash's seminal album, London Calling, will be re-released on Sept. 21
to coincide with the 25th anniverary of its original release.
The anniversary edition will feature two CDs and one DVD.
The first CD will be the original album, while the second disc will be The
Vanilla Tapes -- previously unheard London Calling demos including a number
of tracks that never made the album.
The DVD includes a 45-minute Don Letts-produced documentary, which includes
newly discovered footage of producer Guy Stevens and The Clash in the
recording studio, previously unused live performance footage, interviews
with Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, Nicky "Topper" Headon and Joe Strummer.
There will also be an expansion on the original packaging including rare
Pennie Smith photos, notes by Tom Vague and a lyrics booklet.
