My friends -
I am writing to you on a clear and breezy California evening. My
mood is equal parts relief, with a feeling of accomplishment, yet
anxious for the future, both immediate and far-reaching.
The last year has been quite tumultuous for me, to say the
least...I moved to the opposite end of the country, leaving behind
a huge gaggle of memories and friends.
It is with these sentiments in mind that I present, at long last, the
new Kenny Howes CD, Lady Friend.
While much of my material tends to lean towards the trials of
love lost, Lady Friend is a collection of fond remembrances,
shared lives that never came to be, and inside jokes.
Don't let this sentimentality fool you - some songs on this record
kick back, but on the whole it rocks HARD. How could it not, with
Kelly Shane on drums.
Plus, the title track is a Bryds cover! And it comes with a shiny
silver sticker!
It is only fitting that this release is celebrated in my second
hometown of Atlanta, Georgia - which is exactly what will happen
later this week.
