Arthur, etc.,

The Franklin Castle release "Go!", culls / remasters the best of "She" and "Turbosherbet" which were released in 1996 and 1997 respectively on October Records. Both were produced by John "Strawberry" Fields, which does a lot to expose Wisely's Minnesota roots. He's currently in L.A. and is at work on a new CD to be produced by Linus of Hollywood.

Willie also has a release with the band William & the Conquerors, titled "Turn On Tune Out Drop Dead" which was released on Get Hip records and is still in print (I believe).

I don't have the latter - but can vouch that the first two are well worth tracking down, even if you do get the Franklin Castle retrospective, especially 1996's "She". The Franklin Castle CD does a nice job, but simply put this is one of the best power pop releases of the 90s, so if you like the retrospective, you'll want to dig deeper into "She". Willie recently passed through Eugene, OR (where I am) and did a show here at Sam Bond's Garage. He told me there are 100's of copies of both of these CDs tied up in some warehouse, but legal issues keep them from seeing the light of day. Still, you can frequently track down a copy of either in bargains bins and on eBay.

By the way, he played a couple of the tracks from the upcoming release when he visited, and I think we're in store for something good later this year!

best,

craig

His debut on Franklin Castle is great. The CD is called GO! and it's a
compilation of tracks from older CD's of his. I think they took the
best of 3 of his past releases (that are out of print) and put them on
one CD.
