~~~difford (which is who this post was
about...difford/dunnery) made me think of tillbrook...
who i totally fucked up and didn't go see at a street
festival on sunday... seeing as i had seen fountains
of wayne at a street festival the night before.. good
stuff, as per usual...they did ELO's "cant get it out
of my head" which was nice. lots of stuff from their
s/t, and denise and red dragon tattoo, which i love...
i got to hear 2 1/2 songs from ted leo/pharmacists,
and MAN am i pissed that i was at home doing something
responsible with my roommate. grrr. especially since
it didn't really pan out the way i had hoped. cause
that sheeit is GOOOOD. yummy.
then, afterward, i ran into some old friends, and we
headed over to hipster park (that's wicker park) to
the note to see king radio. (hi frank!...oh. michael
coxe...i said that i'd pass along the message that he
has been trying to re-subscribe to audities with no
luck.) i had seen king radio at IPO a couple of years
ago and was thoroughly impressed with the string
section and the 'typewriter' song. i wondered if i
would still like what i heard.
AND-HOW! good stuff. there were strings (man. soooo
good.), a cello, violins (was one a viola? i don't
know), a guitar, an acoustic, a bass, a drum, various
and sundry percussion (including some xylophone/y
things). organs/synths. so so good. really nice.
and my friends seemed to enjoy them...or they were
lying. they most certainly helped out with the
'whooo!s' in 'i am the walrus.'
so. i just plum forgot to go on sunday. DAMN!
oh well. i've got 200+ emails to get through.
love and pop,
jocelyn
