I was quite shocked that Judy took my post in such a
negative fashion (along with a couple of other people
who rushed, red-faced, to her defense). I thought
writing a post ala "Hey Jude" was not only
entertaining, funny and lighthearted, but also
informative. I was trying to gently let Judy know that
her posts were unnecessarily long and to trim them; I
never, EVER meant to suggest that she should leave the
list, or never post again. Judy's parting comment
about "probably not posting here much ever again" left
me with the feeling that -- perhaps -- a little
passive aggression was being applied. It's okay, I'm
guilty of that, too, sometimes. Ask my wife!
To Judy: I am truly sorry that you found my post to be
insulting; please accept my heartfelt apologies. All I
ask is that you please trim down your replies, and,
also -- please don't take this the wrong way -- try to
keep your replies "on topic", rather than quoting an
entire Audities digest just to respond -- on-list, no
less -- to someone personally ie. "Thanks, Billy, for
the great recommendations." That type of thing is
better done off-list IMO. Keep the list for the topics
at hand.
In reading Judy's posts, it is obvious that she has
been around pop music for all of her life, and her
oldies website is a treasure beyond compare. Judy,
please, I beg ye, STAY on this list and post often,
and frequently -- you're knowledge is welcome and I am
glad you choose to share you're experiences with those
of us here who maybe weren't around that long ago.
(Did that sound like an insult? I hate the english
language -- so very, very vague).
