My local post office has a jambox behind the counter for the employees
that's always tuned to the local crap-ass "classic rock" station -- the one
that should have the slogan "All 'Hotel California' All The Time" -- and
while I was standing on line for a package last week, I heard a station ID
that was set to the tune of my beloved Empire Carpets jingle, the coolest
jingle ever written. The new version went "Eagles, Billy Joel, Doobie
Brothers, allllllll daaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy! [bomp]"
Neatly encapsulating exactly why I never listen to that station.
