Uh, oh. This topic has already been covered before?
I guess that means we should drop this one, if it's
easily searchable in the Archives, in case we're just
creating clutter for someone's in-box? Right?:-) hee

I will add this, though -- using a "Band X sounds
like Band Y and Band Z" formula only really works
if you're referencing bands that are *widely known.*
Many times I've seen bands referred to in reviews and
I have no idea what the original band sounded like,
which leads me to think they may be referencing a
band I should know about *first* -- and that draws
me away from seeking out info on the band whose
CD is reviewed...But I agree, David -- "expanding"
on reference points with "nuggets that help paint a
clearer picture of the actual essence of [the] disc" is
the way to go....Stewart same pretty much the same
thing, too...
