For the sake of additional clarity, Adobe *did* drop Cool Edit 2000, which was the mid-level product in Syntrillium's audio-tools. They maintained (and reworked) the upper-end version, Cool Edit Pro, renamed Adobe Audition.

For the sake of clarity, Adobe did not drop Cool Edit, they changed the name to Adobe Audition.
