OK, here's a site that lists the KHJ playlists by year. According to my
Joel Whitburn Top 100 book, the Shadows of Knight version was released on
3/19/66. I have looked at the 1966 playlists and don't see the Shadows of
Knight version anywhere. Maybe I overlooked it. I only looked at the ones
that were around 3/19/66. KHJ was the biggest Top 40 station in Los Angeles
at that time. Them's version was released on 5/22/65.
