I've visited some great record shops around the USA (and saw some 
eye-popping stuff in Japan), but Charlemagne records in Birmingham AL is 
tough to beat.

Also, I don't really consider CDs a viable medium for listening to music 
anymore. Vinyl sounds better, lasts infinitely longer, and for packaging, a 
big 12" gatefold cover is unbeatable. Jewel cases are like little 
gum-wrappers by comparison.
