why these comments, right now? what did i miss? if i could only remember my name is QUITE a few years old, now... i wasn't all that fond of it. it's certainly not Crosby's musicianship that didn't take- evn with my favorites of the Jefferson Airplane, aft so long, they get a little corny and somehow, obviously dated with regard to writing, song structures. (by the way, though, Santana has made some stuff, collaborations lately that are phenomenally appealing to a new, emerging culture/era...)
the planet earth r&r orchestra album, though (i listened to it incessantly, like, 19 or 20 years ago) is one of my most personal all-time favorites- so much going on in that: Paul and Grace's daughter, China, singing; all those other people you mentioned- overall, a very creatively striking and poignant call for transcendence of conflict and for the return to our common roots as we who share the human predicament of being here on Earth...
and such, blah, blah... i have so much to say....ugh.

for the 2-CD set of these recordings that Rhino
(Warner Strategic Marketing) are putting out this
year....the second disc will feature demos/some of the
recordings from the PERRO (Planet Earth Rock N
Roll Orchestra), featuring members of the Grateful
Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver Messenger
Service and Crosby, Stills and Nash.
