You are correct Michael. I did not mean to come off snippy. I just thought we covered the Vinyl Kings thoroughly and was trying to avoid another long list of postings to delete on an old CD that was just "alright". Sorry if it came out that way. I 'm on a number of lists, and I can;t remember where this was covered or when!

A couple of things --
1. It's hard to pick up on tone in an e-mail. So sometimes an e-mail may
come off sharper than a poster intends. After Miguel posted his
enthusiastic take on Vinyl Kings, someone else posted that we had discussed
the album before. My initial reaction was that seemed a bit of a smackdown
(though that's just an interpretation) that might discourage others from
posters. Anytime we can talk about new (or newish) music, I think it's
welcome. (However, had someone posted -- I just discovered this band Big
Star. They're kind of obscure -- you folks should check them out. Trust
me. -- perhaps that might merit a sharp e-mail). (However II -- what have
people been buying lately -- seems like Audities has skewed lately to
strolls down memory lane, a la Joe Franklin).
2. That being said, I found the Vinyl Kings record to be merely competent
and basically a bloodless take on the Beatles that was more an academic
exercise than anything else.
