During the mid and late seventies during high school and college I worked at
every record store in the Tampa Bay area: Harmony Music, Schoolkids records,
budget tapes and records, 50-50 records, sunbums records, and peaches music.
That was certainly the time of my life I fell in love with a lot of obscure
music, and met a lot of local musicians I became friends with, like Amnesia,
Just Boys, Richard Barone (who also worked at Schoolkids records), and
people like Tom Petty and Randy California, who shopped in the stores. All
that cool obscure music was why I started Audities initially. Cheers, Gary

After another nine months of teaching, I decided to reward myself a summer
off and worked behind the counter at Off The Record near San Diego State
University. I remember we blasted out a lot of wonderful Northern Soul over
the speakers (Chuck Jackson, Dobie Gray, Jackie Wilson and the late great
Edwin Starr) and always closed the joint with a little bit of Sinatra. A
great summer of '89!! Steve
